Once you are accepted into our Patient Aid program, you are now eligible for our new “Matching Dollar” program.
The Board of Trustees of the Children’s Leukemia Research Association recognizing the needs of families whose immediate family members suffer from the ravages of leukemia have established a new Matching Dollar program to assist in providing additional funds for patient aid reimbursement during these difficult times.
The new Matching Dollar program will be administered in conjunction with the existing Patient Aid program in the following manner:
1) The existing program will remain the same as stated in the patient aid acceptance letter, with a cap of $3,000 per family being made available per calendar year in patient aid reimbursement.
2) The Matching Dollar program will add significant patient aid benefits to the existing program for each family. If a patient aid family raises by donations to Children’s Leukemia Research Association up to $3,000 from their friends, family and colleagues, and such donations are received in the name of the patient aid family, then CLRA will match those donated funds dollar for dollar (up to a maximum of $3,000) and make the total of such matching and donated funds available for reimbursement to the named patient aid family in accordance with our existing reimbursement criteria.
For example, if $3,000 is donated to CLRA by anyone in the name of a patient in our patient aid program, CLRA will make available to such patient aid family a total of $6,000 in additional patient aid reimbursements over and above the existing $3,000 in patient aid already available.
The guidelines for reimbursable expenses under our program are as follows:
A) lab fees for blood testing associated with leukemia only
B) x-ray therapy or chemotherapy treatment of leukemia
C) approved leukemia drugs
3) the existing Patient Aid program with the $3,000 cap must be utilized within each calendar year. Under the new program, all matching and donated dollars raised for a patient aid family but unused in each calendar year will be carried over to the following calendar year for the benefit of the named patient aid family for reimbursable expenses under the above guidelines.
The mission of Children’s Leukemia Research Association remains to find the cause and cure for this insidious disease while rendering support to families whose members are in need of patient aid.
Hopefully our prayers and our work will find the answers we seek.
